HANOI (AP) — The United States and Vietnam pledged to boost relations as U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Hanoi on Saturday as part of the Biden administration’s push to counter China’s increasing assertiveness in the Indo-Pacific.Blinken and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday vowed to bring ties to a new level. Their meeting came just two weeks after the 50th anniversary of the withdrawal of American combat forces from South Vietnam that marked the end of America’s direct military involvement in the Vietnam war. A man in a third-floor dormitory window fired a BB gun at another person who was walking down the street Friday night, striking the victim in the face, University of Minnesota police reported.The U police reported the aggravated assault at Pioneer Hall, at 615 Fulton St. S.E. in Minneapolis. LOUIS - A large alleyway fire that started in a dumpster Thursday night woke up people living close to the intersection of Oakland and Tamm avenues, which is located in the Dogtown neighborhood.A car and garage were destroyed, and some homes lost power for a few hours due to the fire."I'm surprised there was this much damage," said Justin Fuson, a nearby resident.The second fire was burning in a dumpster near Clayton Avenue.
